PROVOCATOR PULCHER ~ 85 mm – Paper Volute – Kerguelen Plateau – VERY RARE SHELL!

Perhaps not the prettiest specimen shell, but certainly one of the rarest!
Collected live at
1400 meters
depth in the sub-Antarctic waters of the Kerguelen Plateau in the
Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands
(HIMI). Measures approximately 85 mm and is very thin and delicate.
Any collector with ambitions to collect all fifty of S. Peter Dance’s “Rare Shells” will be familiar with this deep-water species!
